These races, every weekend for the entirety of 2018, are all official races. Some of the more interesting include The Great Wall of China, Rome, Stockholm, Malta, Gran Canaria and many more. A huge part of the challenge for Chris is that he won’t be taking extra time off work to complete this challenge – he will be full time working throughout 2018!
It was a pleasure to welcome Chris back into the lab at the start of this month to get reassessed and get new insoles & footwear for 2018. Chris believes Profeet are instrumental in helping him to succeed with this challenge:
“I first visited Profeet in 2015 whilst preparing to run the Marathon des Sables. I was having some niggling injury problems and we were able to get to the bottom of them and sort me out with footwear and insoles that allowed me to continue my training as normal. I completed the MDS in 2016, finishing in 269th out of about 1200 runners. Since then I have been back to Profeet on several occasions and have found their insoles and expertise are key to allowing me to keep running in comfort and free from injury. This is going to be essential if I’m to complete my 52 in 52 challenge next year! Great service and worth every penny!”
Chris is doing this incredible challenge to raise money for a charity called ‘Hope for Children’. ‘Hope for Children’ is a charity that enables vulnerable children to experience a happy childhood by improving their access to education and health care, and empowering families to support themselves. The charity is one of the smaller charities that exists and therefore the money goes a long way. Chris is looking to raise £12,000 over the course of what remains of 2017 and 2018.
