Shoe Review: AKU Tribute II Gortex

“Overall this is a really soft & comfortable boot. The Vibram sole is still stiff enough to be highly durable when walking through terrain like the Alps(however is not crampon compatible). The softness of the leather means for those with bunions there is fair amount of give in the forefoot, whilst still providing enough hold and lockdown in the ankle region. A Gore-tex® lining keeps the boot waterproof and the overall weight is very light and easy to wear.”

1. Leather upper made of full grain leather. Soft but durable. It has a performance comfort GORE-TEX lining.
2. Laces/heel lock can be applied on all boots to give more ankle hold. The buckles on this boot have a third lock for around the lower ankle region, this gives even more security for the lower leg.
3. Heel counter is narrow so gives great lockdown around the heel. Midsole is made from a medium stiffness of TPU and so feels surprisingly soft and flexible.
4. Outsole is made with Vibram and is aggressive with great flexible but sturdy traction. Made from rubber and designed by AKU it delivers maximum stability underfoot.
