Congratulations to Emily Campbell -

We have thoroughly enjoyed watching the Paris Olympics 2024

The incredible display of sporting prowess and sportsmanship that the Olympics represents is always uplifting and most welcome when set against the backdrop of a rather troubled world where war and political unrest have been holding centre stage.

The Paris 2024 sporting extravaganza has been the ideal way to bring everyone together in a show of (near) global unity and cooperation. It is a beacon of human excellence and also a symbol of peace – as noted by Olympic Chairman, Thomas Bach, in his closing speech last night.

Reasons to celebrate

We offer our congratulations to Team GB who once again brought home a slew of medals and did us proud attaining an impressive 65 medals in total – one more than the Tokyo games. But none was more poignant to the Profeet Team than British Women’s Weightlifter, Emily Campbell, who retained her Olympic medal-winning status by earning a Bronze in the +81kg category. Emily lifted a career-best hoisting an incredible combined total of 288kg.

“It’s absolutely incredible, we’ve had a fantastic Games and I’m sure everybody is really, really happy,” Campbell said after the competition. “The field was tough today, the level compared to Tokyo was so much higher. I knew I had to bring out the big guns today and I’m just so happy.”

Trademark style

In her usual upbeat, determined and cheerful style, Emily sported red/white/blue braids including the Olympic rings. She completed her winning lift with a flourish, exiting the stage with a cartwheel. We love it!

A long time friend and ambassador of Profeet, we all feel delighted for Emily who is known for her total dedication to the sport of weightlifting while also being an advocate and figurehead for women in sports. She was notably nominated for BT Sport Action Woman of the Year Award in 2021. Her friendly and humorous approach has also seen her make her debut on TV appearing on the Weakest Link and The Great British Menu. We look forward to seeing more of her in the coming months.

Well done Emily, we salute you!
