Regular Profeet customers and visitors to our site will recall that just over a year ago, we announced that we would be donating all the old trainers we accumulate to the DBA Sports ‘Kicks for Kenya’ campaign.
Your old trainers go to Africa
Through ‘Sporting Chance International’ DBA Sports have been shipping your old trainers out to Africa over the last year.
The main beneficiaries have been Kenya Lacrosse. Previously many players played barefoot or in school shoes.
DBA Sports in Kenya
DBA founder Storm Trentham travelled out to Kenya last week:
“I’m so excited to touch down in Nairobi today to coach up to 400 players across our three academies.”
Storm’s goal is to make Kenya the first African team to reach the U19 Women’s Lacrosse World Championships, next due to be held in Canada in 2019.
Hundreds of trainers donated
It’s not just lacrosse that has benefited.
More than 150 other athletes in Kenya have been able to wear good quality trainers thanks to your donations.
You don’t have to buy shoes from Profeet to donate your own. Simply drop your old trainers into our Fulham store and we will pass them on to DBA Sports.
