Solar boost as it states in the name uses Boost cushioning throughout the midsole. It is a soft but responsive material which aims to give a strong energy return for a comfortable ride.

Profeet thoughts: Adidas Solar boost is a more stable version of the Ultra Boost. The revamped upper and propulsion rails give the foot a great hold. It is an ideal fit for the narrow foot.
The heel counter allows for natural movement of the Achilles and doesn’t hold too tightly around the back of the heel.
Responsive cushioning: The more energy you give, the more you get.
The solar propulsion rail (which is the extra EVA that runs along the medial and lateral side of the foot) and torsion stability that runs through the midfoot aids stability. This really helps guide the foot between the heel and the forefoot.
The midfoot material is knitted and stitched with reinforcement to offer targeted foot hold.
