Georgie Rutherford reports on the Oceanman World Championships

This event was a 5.5km swimming race around the island out to sea off the coast in Benidorm and then back to the beach. It was a mix of conditions with crystal clear waters but swell, choppy waters especially all around the island and jelly fish everywhere. Luckily I only got stung twice. Others had stingers all over them at the finish!

I am absolutely delighted with my result. [George was 1st!]. This was totally unexpected as this was a new race series for me and the competition was packed with girls from Russia, France, Italy, Spain, America and GB. Turns out rest, rehab and quality training works.
