How to lace a heel lock for hiking boots (Video, 1:16) -

Sometimes you need to prevent heel lift in your walking boots. Richard from Profeet explains how to lace your boots to achieve this.

There are lots of ways you can do this.

Our technique is good for clamping the heel down, which is also very good for shin pain, so when the foot is flexing back and forth in the boot you can take away a lot of that tension too.

This method means the tie-off point is much lower on the foot and keeps the ankle tight in the boot.

Profeet are sports footwear specialists based in Fulham, London and stock a wide range of walking and trekking boots.

Our knowledgeable and experienced staff can help you find the right walking boots for you.
