Adidas Solar Glide ST - Running shoe review by Profeet, running shoes London

The Solar Glide ST is Adidas’ newest support shoe replacing the Supernova ST from last year’s range.

  • Shoe: Road running
  • Type: Support Shoe
  • Weight: 335g (UK 8) 267g (UK 5.5)
  • Drop: 10mm
  • Stack height: 32/22mm

Profeet thoughts: The new Solar Glide ST is very similar to its predecessor the Supernova Glide ST. One difference we would note is a slight reduction in volume so an ideal shoe for a narrow foot.

Shoe review
A key difference is that there is a denser Boost material on the medial portion under 1st met. This combined with plastic heel counter units in the heel and midfoot work together to reduce the speed of motion and the amount.

Shoe review
The new flex fold engineered mesh upper helps to lockdown the foot. It really focuses on having a close supportive fit whilst still allowing flexibility.

Shoe review

Solar Boost Propulsion rails are on either side of the ST model and help to stabilisze through the knees during the foot cycle.

Shoe review

The fit of the shoe is narrow and close meaning the foot will feel rather snug and well held in the shoe. There is an extra reinforcement of material over the big toe region to aid wear and tear of the shoe too.
