The Brooks Levitate 2 is similar in function to its predecessor but does look rather different from the first model. Its upper however, fits in with other footwear across the industry due to the woven/knitted mesh.

  • Shoe: Road running
  • Type: Neutral Shoe
  • Weight: 317.5g (UK 8) 280g (UK 6.5)
  • Drop: 8mm
  • Price: £140

Profeet thoughts:  From our usage so far, the shoe is proving to still be within the stable neutral category and extremely comfortable.

The overall feel of this shoe is firm, but very cushioned and responsive. The added weight of the Brooks Levitate 2 in comparison to other models is marginally noticeable. However, we think the ride of the shoe is so comfortable and effortless that the weight is a minimal factor.

The change in the upper for this shoe is the heel counter which has been replaced with a sock like style of fit. This has been done to reduce weight but also give a snugger fit around the heel area. In doing so it provides the Achilles with some contact and added comfort.

The type of cushioning in this shoe is DNA AMP. This is more responsive and gives more energy feedback in the shoe than any other that brooks carry. The silver lining as it were, helps to retain the energy generated from the AMP material.
