Profeet thoughts: The Glycerin 17 is ideal for those who need cushioning while running, potentially one of the softer shoes on the market at the moment. The previously wider toe box in the glycerin 16 has been narrowed slightly but the new upper material does still allow for forefoot accommodation.

  1. The new DNA LOFT maintains Brooks’ signature DNA midsole qualities. The key theme of the shoe is cushioning, the midsole is considerably softer than other options from Brooks
  2. The updated upper material sits slightly lighter weight which works in conjunction with a new OrthoLite sock liner which offers a more plush feel, while still maintaining midfoot security.
  3. The glycerin is also one of the Brooks models that is available in a wider 2E fitting for those who need extra width.
  4. The Glycerin follow the traditional Brooks shape with a wider toe-box for those with a wider foot while maintaining a narrower midfoot. While this is the case, it does have a squarer and narrower toe box than previous models.
