Each year, (minus a couple thanks to the pandemic), the Profeet team gather their gear and head to the snow for some ski boot testing and of course a well-earned, end-of-season ski.
Verbier beckons
This year, we’ve chosen Verbier as our destination. In the Swiss Canton of Valais, it is the gateway to the 4 Vallées ski area and known for its pretty village and advanced on and off-piste skiing – it’s also one of the few places where we know where we will have enough snow to test boots late in the season. Perfect! We will be testing some of the newest ski boots for AW23, engaging our brains to discuss what works and what doesn’t and using our ski legs one more time before the summer calls.
We’re also looking forward to indulging in some good old après ski and team bonding.
Skiing Biomechanics
During our trip we’ll not only be busy practicing what we preach, but we’ll also be joining forces with our good friends at the Warren Smith Ski Academy. We’re taking this time to explore skiing and biomechanics: one of our favourite topics and something we have in common with the Warren Smith Ski Academy Team.
The Technique Lab
Warren has pin-pointed and honed a protocol for addressing biomechanical patterns and behaviours to help each individual understand their own body position, strengths and weaknesses relative to the optimum skiing stance. Some of you may remember that we hosted a customer evening on this very subject last autumn, and you can see more details about that here.
With our own ski boot fitters having sports science and biomechanics backgrounds, this will be an amazing opportunity to share ideas and experience of boot fitting, biomechanics and ski technique.
You might also be tempted to book a course for yourself since WSSA is considered the university of ski technique, and many have taken their skiing to the next level and beyond through these reputable programmes. Something to think about for the 2024 season! www.warrensmith-skiacademy.com

The Profeet Lab will be closed from the 18th – 21st April 2023
This trip represents the culmination of another busy season at the Profeet Ski Boot Lab and reminds us of why we do what we do. After all, it’s our collective passion for skiing that gets us out of bed every morning and feeds our souls. There’s nothing better than buckling into (perfectly fitting) ski boots and heading into the powder! In honour of our annual pilgrimage, the Profeet Lab will therefore be closed for a few days.
Hope you’ve all had a good ski season and we’ll be ready to welcome you into the Ski Boot Lab, (open throughout the year), with fresh inspiration on our return.
