Salomon Debuts The S/pro C Alpha Boa® Range 2027 - Profeet
Salomon S/Pro Alpha BOA series - 2027

Salomon has released this new 2027 version of the trusted Alpha model early, to introduce the latest exciting ski boot technology.
– available at Profeet right now!

Always a leader in innovation, Salomon has come up with something smart that takes existing cutting-edge BOA technology but uses it in a different way. The 2027 S/Pro Alpha C BOA® series features a cuff-mounted BOA closure system, but with buckles over the forefoot. Curious, you may think, because this reverses the idea of buckles on the shin and BOA over the forefoot adopted to date, but there is method in their madness!

This ski boot buckle approach accommodates a major redesign of their high-performance, low-volume (98mm) alpine boot line, focusing on a new single-pivot shell design for enhanced energy transmission.

This is the most direct, progressive, and smooth alpine boot Salomon has ever designed.”

What’s new

Most two-piece alpine boots hinge at the ankle with fairly conventional pivots. The Alpha C BOA introduces Salomon’s ExoDrive construction and a Powerlink lower pivot, with the goal of making the boot transmit energy more directly and flex more progressively.

ExoDrive Construction (Single Pivot Design)
Unlike traditional boots with two ankle pivots, the S/Pro Alpha C features a single pivot on the outer side and a clean medial wall (no hinge). On the inner side, the cuff attaches to the lower shell via a Powerlink screw system, creating a third cuff overlap.

Powerlink & Power Spine
A metal Powerlink plate links the cuff and shell, allowing for a stiffer, more direct connection. The Power Spine back plate allows for adjustment between Reactive and Progressive settings.

Cuff-Mounted BOA® Fit System
The C BOA models replace the top two traditional buckles with a single, cuff-mounted BOA dial for a tighter, more precise, and even hold.

Custom Tongue 2
The liner features a reworked, edgeless removable tongue for improved instep comfort and customisation, reducing pressure points.

What you’ll feel on snow

If Salomon’s design objectives translate for you, the on-snow effect should be:

  1. Quicker edge engagement when you tip the ski, less lag between shin movement and edge bite.
  2. More support mid-turn without needing to over-tighten buckles to stop the foot moving around.
  3. A smoother flex that feels progressive rather than hinged at the ankle.

Powerful performance

Overall, the new Alpha C is designed to provide better heel hold and more direct power transfer to the ski edge by forcing the boot to bend as a single unit, rather than just hinging at the ankle. The design also features a “3D instep shell” that lowers pressure on the top of the foot.

In summary…

The new design is considered a significant engineering shift in alpine ski boots, promising better power and control for aggressive skiers who prefer a low-volume, high-performance fit.
